Faculty / Directorate

The Faculty of Business and Law is the largest faculty by size at DMU Dubai, and is home to a diverse range of courses at Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. The faculty equips students with the skills and specialist knowledge to prepare and develop successful industry professionals with the knowledge and expertise to make a significant difference to the world of business that they live and work in. We pride ourselves in preparing responsible leaders for the future, who are able to take on the challenges of the business workplace in today's every changing landscape.

Role

The role of a Lecturer is to contribute to our student centric teaching and support students by teaching and guiding them at various levels that the university offers. The expectation from a Lecturer includes but is not restricted to: preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars and workshops, using innovative teaching techniques, taking up Module Leadership where offered and available, marking assessments and providing appropriate level of feedback, project and dissertation supervision, personal tutoring and being a valuable team player within the team.

The purpose of the role of a Senior Lecturer is the same as the above, with the additional responsibility of developing innovative teaching content, setting assignments, leading on Module and/or Program Leadership as offered as well as creating positive impact towards the goals of the University.

We are looking for academics who have or aim to have a portfolio of research activities that offer realist prospect of publication in international refereed journals. Ideally your research portfolio should revolve around one or more of the areas highlighted above. (Senior Lecturer requirement)

Ideal Candidate

You should hold a PhD (Accounting) or Postgraduate degree in an accounting discipline and professional qualification (ACCA or CA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW or any other equivalent professional qualification).

Being a British institution that offers a British degree, we are particularly interested in applicants who have adequate teaching experience in the UK or at a UK institution. Ideal candidates will demonstrate leadership in program development and support for the teaching teams, including mentoring colleagues on the team.

You must be familiar with delivering teaching and learning within a higher education or at academic-level. You will share DMU's passion to provide outstanding and inclusive outcomes for all of its students.

Of particular interest are applicants who can teach one or more of the following:

  • Advanced Financial Reporting;
  • Accounting Standards and Theory;
  • Audit and Assurance
  • Advanced Corporate Finance
