Job Description
  1. Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Perform routine maintenance on plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
    • Address and repair issues with appliances, fixtures, and general infrastructure.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the housing units are in good condition.
  2. Emergency Response:
    • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests, such as leaks, power outages, or heating failures.
    • Provide quick solutions to prevent further damage and ensure safety.
  3. Renovations and Upgrades:
    • Assist with or manage renovation projects, including remodeling rooms or updating facilities.
    • Install new equipment or upgrades as needed.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all repairs and maintenance work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
    • Conduct safety inspections and address potential hazards.
  5. Inventory and Supplies:
    • Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and repair materials.
    • Order and manage supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
  6. Record Keeping:
    • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
    • Report on the condition of facilities and any issues that need attention.
  7. Customer Service:
    • Interact with staff and residents to address their concerns and provide assistance.
    • Communicate effectively to manage expectations and provide updates on repairs.
Qualifications
  1. Skills and Qualifications:
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems. Ability to handle a variety of repair tasks.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and find effective solutions.
    • Communication: Good interpersonal skills to interact with staff and address their concerns.
    • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time efficiently and keep track of maintenance schedules and inventory.
    • Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety protocols and building codes.
Educational Requirements
  1. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Vocational training or certification in relevant trades (plumbing, electrical work, HVAC) is often preferred.
Experience
  1. Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is often required.
  2. Experience in a similar role within a residential or institutional setting can be beneficial.
