About theRole


TheAssistant Manager Lost Chambers Aquarium is responsible forensuring healthy and sanitary living conditions proper nutritionand constant care for all marine animals and exhibits withinAtlantis The Palm. The person in this role will supervise a team ofSenior Aquarists and Aquarists and be strongly involved in manyprogrammes including but not limitedto:


  • Inspectingand evaluating the condition of exhibits aquarium dcor andenvironments
  • Ensuring consistent fish healthprogrammes are carried out through cross contamination preventionmeasures proper diagnostics and fish treatments; and liaising withvet staff as needed
  • Overseeing all quarantineand husbandry operations
  • Ensuring highestservice standards and delivery of 5* guestexperience
  • Playing an active role in marineeducation conservation and research efforts in compliance to AZAstandards
  • Communicating effectively with Marine& Waterpark Division senior leadership by settingexpectations streamlining decision making and building strongrelationships with otherdepartments
  • Implementing and monitoring writtenstandards and protocols for all exhibits to ensure the higheststandards for water quality operating efficiency cleanliness andanimal health
  • Representing the facility atselected conferences and giving mediainterviews
  • Contributing to the budgetingprocess by managing expenses andrevenues

AboutYou


Werelooking for an experienced professional with a degree in BiologyZoology Marine Science or related field and/or knowledge and skillsequivalent to 5 years aquarium experience in addition to 2 yearssupervisory experience. Additionally you must have a PADI RescueScuba Certification or equivalent. You should have provenexperience in managerial capacity and extensive knowledge ofaquarium species including habitat preferences behaviors feedingand nutrition requirements. Were looking for candidates able toprovide clear instructions training and follow up to all husbandryand guest facing colleagues and who possess strong administrativeabilities accompanying a strong customer focus. You willcontinuously look for ways to deliver everlasting memories andpursue professionaldevelopment.
