Conducts tests to determine ifwork has been done in accordance with contract specifications andmay include any of the following: Performs civil and structuraltests, such as soil compaction, moisture content, aggregation,graduation, concrete slump, air entrainment, concrete compression,lines and grades surveys, bolt torques, and concretecoring.
Performs destructive and nondestructivetests on metals and other materials through magnaflex,dyepenetrant, radiographic, tension and compression, paintthickness, and resistivity.
Performssurveillance of underground piping to ensure tightness, bedding,and grade.
Inspects and monitors pilinginstallation to ensure location andbearing.
Validates piping systems, includingP&ID checks and hydraulic or other pressuretests.
Inspects electrical installations toensure proper grounding, circuit integrity, and adherence tostatutory and customer regulations.
Performscontinuing inspection of painting and insulation to ensurethickness and coverage continuity.
Providesgeneral inspection on all construction labor and subcontractedtasks to ensure professionalworkmanship.
Verifies equipment alignment andbalancing operations. Participates in the development of qualitycontrol reports and procedures
Participates inthe development of job safety practices and in the preparation ofsafety reports.
May administer welderqualification tests.
Performs otherresponsibilities associated with this position as may beappropriate.
