JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Production Engineer

KEY RESULTS / ACCOUNTABILITIES / PERFORMANCE MEASURES

Responsible for production planning functions of projects including:

1. Receipt of drawing packages & requisitions.
2. Organizing & updating of planning database.
3. Sections raw materials forecasting & nesting.
4. Job allocation to various fabrication bays.
5. Tracking of workflow at every stage until delivery.
6. Periodical project reporting.
7. Coordination with all stakeholders to meet management objectives and project requirements.

JOB SUMMARY (Major functions of the position)

Major functions include:

1. Receiving drawing packages & requisitions ensuring the availability of all data required for our process.
2. Organizing & updating of planning database for access by all concerned personnel.
3. Assisting in shop monthly plan preparation based on project forward load chart & site sequential requirements.
4. Allocating fabrication drawings among fabrication bays based on weekly/monthly plans & loading patterns.
5. Controlling revisions & holds of fabrication drawings and continuous updates to production bays.
6. Monitoring production progress to ensure adherence to the plan and initiating countermeasure actions when necessary.
7. Documenting changes in fabrication drawings/requirements through change orders for additional claims.
8. Providing periodical progress reporting to the projects team.
9. Coordinating with all concerned for shop floor activities like drawing queries, free issue materials, erection sequence & site requirements.
10. Assisting in continual improvement of production planning & reporting processes.
11. Adhering to all company policies, procedures, ethics codes, and ensuring communication and implementation within each project.
12. Performing other duties as assigned to ensure project and shop objectives are met.
13. Forecasting sections raw materials based on available drawings & coordinating with projects team to ensure sufficient raw materials for production.
14. Preparing sections nesting plans & materials requisitions and distributing them to CNC shop & material control department to initiate raw materials preparation.
15. Coordinating with projects & design team for shop splicing approvals.
16. Maintaining related database on raw materials receipt status, offcuts availability, cutting plan release status, etc. and related documents in order.
17. Preparing raw materials reconciliation statements and monitoring & controlling effective usage of raw materials to reduce scrap margin & offcuts generation.
18. Being responsible for the quality of the produced product and creating value through process improvement with a clear focus on safety, quality, and production.
19. Planning daily production schedules considering lead times, due dates, and resources; clarifying and optimizing the plan.
20. Submitting DPR and biweekly reports regularly through email and hardcopy to Top Management.
21. Responding to technical clarifications from suppliers, maintaining a register, and ensuring project work complies with conditions set out in the scope of work.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

(Minimum requirement to competently perform the job, NOT the specifications of the person currently holding the position)

Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Desired Professional / Exposure or Experience: 8 years of related experience and competency in computer software such as MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Project is required.
