Key Skills for an Assistant Physiotherapist

    • Ability to assist in exercises, stretches, and manual therapy.

    • Proficiency in setting up and using therapy equipment (e.g., TENS machines, ultrasound).

  3. Communication Skills

    • Explaining exercises and therapy plans to patients in simple terms.
    • Providing emotional support and motivation to patients.
    • Collaborating effectively with physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals.

  4. Observation and Reporting

    • Monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the physiotherapist.
    • Identifying any issues during therapy sessions and escalating them appropriately.

  5. Empathy and Patience

    • Displaying a caring attitude toward patients of all ages and conditions.
    • Encouraging patients to stay committed to their therapy plans.

  6. Time Management

Responsibilities of an Assistant Physiotherapist

  1. Patient Support

    • Assisting patients with mobility and functional training.

  2. Administrative Duties

    • Scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
    • Preparing therapy areas and ensuring equipment is in working order.

  3. Therapy Assistance

  4. Education and Motivation

    • Guiding patients on home exercise programs.
    • Encouraging adherence to prescribed therapy plans.
Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
