Project Manager

Project Overview Bechtel is pursuing a significant new award of work in Egypt. The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel's contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services. Job Summary In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets. Major Responsibilities Leadership / Supervision Proactively engages with their team's development through CPM, Competency development/assessment and feedback. Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. Planning / Productivity Determines workforce requirements. Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast. Tools, Materials & Equipment Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site. Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive. Safety & Quality Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with specifications. Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations. Monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed. Technical Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. Required Knowledge and Skills Experience of leading large infrastructure projects, from a Contractor or a Project Management consultant perspective. Experience in Middle east / GCC is a requirement. Knowledge of Bechtel organization, policies, procedures, and programs including QA and Safety, particularly as they relate to infrastructure development. Knowledge and understanding of Bechtel standard tools, techniques, and procedures. Knowledge of Project Execution Plan development and implementation. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of cross functional work processes and interface knowledge, especially Project Controls, Supply Chain management, Quality management and the ability to manage the relationships/interfaces with management and functional groups. Strong leadership, communication and writing skills. Preferably professionally licensed or chartered by a recognized licensing board. Education and Experience Requirements Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
