The Histology Technician uses a variety oftechnical and analytical skills to perform the various tasksrequired for receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissuespecimens for microscopic examination and analysis by thePathologist.
This may include logging, batching,and cutting, mounting and stainingprocedures.
Tissue specimens received fromsurgical or diagnostic cases are sorted, logged, and prioritizedaccording to the standards required.
The histotechnologist must exhibit service excellence as required by theaccreditation bodies of the laboratory in performance of thisjob.
