What are we lookingfor?

  • Goodbasic math, reading, and writing skills. Good mechanical aptitude.Basic knowledge of personal computers. Good problem solving skills.Good housekeeping skills and knowledge ofGMP's.
  • High School diploma orequivalent plus 1-2 years experience (manufacturing environmentpreferred).Ability and willingness to develop and manage self,demonstrate self directed workgroup leadership and contribute toefficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimalsupervision.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to operate forklift in a safemanner.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts understressful conditions such as heat, cold, high and/or confinedspaces and have full mobility with ability to climb ladders andstairs.

What will be your keyresponsibilities?

  • Perform activities of QualityAssurance as detailed in the Quality Systemsmanual.
  • Ability to perform all lab tests andfinished product testing
  • Communicate results ofroutine QA tests to productionpersonnel.
  • Notify supervisory personnel and QASupervisor of product quality or plant conditions, which may have anegative impact on product, and work together to correct thesituation. In the case of finished product, perform follow-uptesting until situation is corrected and product disposition isresolved in a quality conscious manner.
  • Collectingredient and finished product samples asrequired.
  • Assist in special tests orinspections requested of the plant QA department by the PlantManager, Shift Manager and QA Manager.
  • UseAnalytical data to assist Operations determine cause ofissues.
  • Understand processes at Mattoon inorder to troubleshoot issues
  • Actively worktowards quality improvement, (final product, plant condition, andcustomer service) improve in productivity and costreduction.
  • Lab housekeeping and equipmentmaintenance
  • Ability to actively address foodsafety and quality concerns.
  • Able to cover allreceiving functions as necessary.
  • Able to coverall composite labs activities as needed.
  • Otherduties as assigned

Ensureadherence to all site food safety and security practices

  • Maintain a safe and clean workenvironment to promote associate safety and productintegrity
  • Must be able to cover overtime forarea.
  • Initiate PRIMPS and non-conformances inNexus System
  • Enter data into NIR and InfinityQS databases
