Plumbing Mechanical Engineer (6-9 month contract)

We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Mechanical Engineer to oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of plumbing systems for high-rise residential buildings . The ideal candidate will ensure that all plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems comply with local codes, safety standards, and project specifications , while optimizing performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Planning:

  • Develop detailed plumbing system layouts for water supply, drainage, stormwater, and sanitary systems .
  • Perform pipe sizing, pressure calculations, and load analysis to ensure efficient system operation.
  • Coordinate plumbing designs with MEP, architectural, and structural teams to avoid conflicts.
  • Oversee the installation of plumbing systems , ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Supervise subcontractors and site teams to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to schedules .
  • Conduct pressure tests, leak detection, and inspections to verify system integrity.

Compliance & Quality Control:

  • Ensure all plumbing works meet local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards .
  • Conduct site inspections and risk assessments , identifying and resolving design or installation issues.
  • Maintain proper documentation, including as-built drawings, testing reports, and compliance certificates .

Material Selection & Procurement:

  • Specify pipes, fittings, pumps, water heaters, and fixtures suitable for high-rise applications.
  • Review vendor proposals and recommend cost-effective, high-quality materials.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Develop preventive maintenance plans for plumbing systems post-installation.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to low water pressure, leaks, drainage blockages, and pump failures .

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in high-rise residential plumbing design and installation .
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, plumbing calculation software, and BIM modeling .
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of MEP coordination, water supply, drainage, and fire suppression systems .
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on multi-story residential towers .
  • Familiarity with sustainable plumbing solutions and green building codes .
