Lead Project Engineer

Wood is recruiting for a Lead Project Engineer to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. This is a full‑time office‑based role. Role Overview This Lead Project Engineer will be part of the Iraq Operations Business, contributing to the technical delivery of engineering excellence on major Brownfield oil & gas projects. Key Responsibilities Executing assigned scopes of work, including planning, scheduling, and preparing documentation for projects. Ensuring successful completion of projects/ phases within budgeted time, cost and quality constraints. Participating in engineering approaches, investigations, and performance specification development. Checking engineering calculations and drawings against industry codes and standards. Providing guidance, technical leadership and mentoring for mid‑level technical staff. Participating in audits, incident investigations, design reviews and site visits. Managing small work groups, assigning tasks, preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets. Maintaining compliance with HSSE and safety requirements in both office and site environments. Required Qualifications and Experience B.Sc. or equivalent degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university. Minimum 15+ years of experience in major Brownfield oil & gas projects, with at least 5 years in a similar leadership position. Pre‑FEED/FEED, Detailed Engineering and design experience in the GCC region. Proficient in project planning, calculation templates and software relevant to the discipline. Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and innovate solutions.
