  • Ensure yard compliance withnational and international standards, class rules andlegislations.
  • Liaise with third partyinspection authorities whenever required for the project andissuing any necessary work orders for inspections and / ortesting.
  • Plan, organize, coordinating andcontrolling activities of WPQR qualification and preparation ofrelevant welding procedure specification. Updating and maintainingthe files of approvedWPS’s.
  • Authorize to stop processes ifthey do not meet specified requirements.
  • Raisenon-conformity report, performing root cause analysis and approvingre-work processes.
  • Collate, updating andfiling, all relevant to welding engineering documents byproject.
  • Issue, maintain and revalidatingwelders’ qualification test records(WQTR).
  • Provide expertise in the development ofspecific procedures, techniques, check lists, sequences or anyother welding related requirements.
  • CarryoutMaterial grade identification and material confirmationtests.
  • Liaise with the ent, QualityEngineers/Supervisors/Inspectors, Project Managers, ProductionSupervisors, Client’s Representatives and ClassificationSurveyors whenever required for theproject.
  • Prepare procedures and workinstructions related to heat treatmentactivities.
  • Oversee process of welding andwelding related equipment validation andcalibration.
  • Select, approve and quantityestimation of welding consumables and preparation of relevant workinstruction, Batch testing of consumable (ifrequired).
  • Implement the day-to-day operationsassigned for the department/section to ensure compliance with theestablished standards andprocedures.

Essential/Desirable

·Degree in Welding or Metallurgical / MechanicalEngineering

· Master degree inmetallurgy/Welding

· InternationalCodes, Class rules on welding &testing

· Knowledge of materials andvarious

· Non-destructive testing/Mechanical methods

· InternationalWelding Engineer as per IIW certificationprogram

· 5 to 7 years of experiencein similar role.

· Ship repair/Newbuilding, oil & gas industries.
