The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, creating and executing authentic Lebanese dishes, managing the kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensuring a smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operation. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience in preparing Lebanese dishes, along with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and create seasonal menus featuring authentic Lebanese cuisine, incorporating traditional and modern twists.
  • Develop and standardize recipes to ensure consistency in taste, portion sizes, and presentation.
  • Regularly innovate and experiment with new dishes to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and dishwashers, ensuring they are trained and performing to high standards.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in compliance with hygiene, quality, and safety standards.
  • Schedule and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring proper staffing levels for smooth operations.
  • Maintain inventory control, including ordering and storing ingredients, ensuring proper rotation of stock, and minimizing waste.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of all food items, ensuring that they are prepared according to specifications.
  • Regularly check food for freshness, taste, and presentation before serving.
  • Ensure all food safety and sanitation protocols are strictly adhered to, including food storage, cleanliness, and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Assist in managing the kitchen's budget, including food cost, labor costs, and other operational expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen role, with at least 5 years of experience in Lebanese or Middle Eastern cuisine.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lebanese food culture, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and maintain high standards during peak hours.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a positive working environment, with excellent communication skills.
