LHH RecruitmentSolutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Breeder tojoin our client's team in Charlotte, NC. As a PlantBreeder, you will play a crucial role in developing and improvingplant varieties to meet the needs of our client's food andbeverage production. This position requires a deep understanding ofagronomy, plant breeding techniques, and hands-on experienceworking onfarms.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and experiments todevelop new plant varieties with desired traits such as yield,quality, and resistance to diseases orpests.
- Utilize breeding techniques such ascrossbreeding, selection, and genetic modification to improve plantcharacteristics.
- Manage and maintain plantbreeding programs, including field trials, data collection, andanalysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinaryteams including agronomists, geneticists, and farmers to ensuresuccessful breeding programs.
- Evaluate andselect plant varieties based on performance metrics, marketdemands, and consumer preferences.
- Stay updatedwith advancements in plant breeding technology, genetics, andagricultural practices.
- Document researchfindings, prepare reports, and communicate results tostakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatoryrequirements related to plant breeding and genetically modifiedorganisms (GMOs).
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Agronomy,Plant Breeding, Plant Genetics, or a relatedfield.
- Hands-on experience working on farms orin agricultural research settings.
- Knowledge ofplant breeding techniques, genetics, and crop managementpractices.
- Strong analytical skills and abilityto interpret data and researchfindings.
- Excellent communication and teamworkskills to collaborate effectively with diverseteams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracyin data collection and analysis.
- Ability towork independently and manage multiple projectssimultaneously.
- Familiarity with regulatoryguidelines and ethical considerations in plant breeding and GMOresearch.
