TheRole

This role involves workingwith various types of telecommunications infrastructure includingfiber optics copper cables and wireless systems. OSP Techniciansensure the reliable operation of these networks addressing issuesand performing upgrades as needed.

Key Responsibilities andRequirements:

• Knowledge and experience of fiber optictechnology FTTX.
• Understanding of differencebetween single and multimode fibers
• Ability toread and interpret network diagrams also detailedinstructions
• Manage pole climbing and workingat heights and small confined spaces
• Experiencepulling and dressing fiber optic cables in an OSPenvironment
• Keep cable neatly tied and bundledwhile maintaining the safetystandards
• Experience of splicing for the bothloose tube and ribbon fibers opticcables
• Proven experience for the differentvendors splicing machines andtechniques
• Experience on cables preparation forthe ODF installation and joint enclosuresrepair/maintenance
• Hands on experience of fiberoptic test equipment VFL Optical Power meter OTDR and related testequipment
• Must have experience and familiaritywith installing & handling various fiber optic typesincluding multi core duct and direct buriedcables
• Documents network by labeling androuting equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams andspecifications.

Qualification:Experience in the telecommunications industry(specifically OSP work) preferably on similar EtisalatprojectsCertifications relevant to fiberoptics (e.g. CFOT)Knowledge of GPON technology(common in FTTH deployments)Experience workingwith trenching and diggingequipment
