Job Purpose: The Senior Data ystis a fullyparticipating member of a crossfunctional team workingautonomously on technology development and problem resolution inthe Enterprise Data & ytics space. The role involves theysis aspects of sourcing and transforming data to ensure itdelivers on the insights required by Emirates Airlines and EmiratesGroup business stakeholders.

In thisrole you will:

  • Understandsbusiness domains well (e.g. airline penger pilot & crewaircraft HR Finance). Work with product owners and business usersto understand operational source system data and businesstransformation/data cleansing rules required to ensure that yticalsolutions generate the insights required by the business. Operatewith a datadriven mindset helping the business generate thoseinsights based on data.
  • ist in the collectionof data dictionaries and the creation of business glossaries.Maintain core data repositories as data sources and interfaceschange over time.
  • Understand and maintain datamodels and data interfaces for the ytical environment to understandavailability of data for the required businessreports.
  • Conduct simple data gap ysis and dataprofiling to yze the availability and quality of incoming data andadvise on any data cleansing rules or issue resolution options incase of incidents (including ysis of potential data qualityissues). Incorporate business transformation rules into solutiondesigns or mapping doents to ensure solutions provide timelybusiness value.
  • The doent proposed or modifieddata interfaces including fit for data models data flow timingsourcetotarget mapping uniqueness criteria and data transformationrules including data validations andcontrols.
  • Provide feedback on logical andphysical data models to ensure they effectively meet the yticalrequirements and expectations.
  • Collaborate withthe quality engineers to identify areas that need to be validatedand ensure data exposed to business stakeholders satisfies theirytical needs.
  • Keep current on evolving EmiratesAirlines and Emirates Group data and ytics business knowledgedomains to accurately ess the quality of the data and ensurebusiness glossaries remainuptodate.

Qualifications &Experience: To be considered for the role you must meet the belowrequirements:

  • Bachelorsdegree (123) in Computer Science Computational Mathematics ComputerEngineering or Software Engineering with a preference for Data& ytics specialization plus 2 years of data ysis experience(or fewer for masters degree holders).
  • Minimum2 years conducting data ysis tasks (e.g. source systemidentification data dictionary/metadata collection data profilingsourcetotarget mapping).
  • Proven track recorddeveloping and maintaining data doentation artifacts inorganizations of similar size and complexity within projectdeadlines.
  • Deep expertise in businesstransformation rules and understanding of data solutiondesigns.
  • Experience writing SQL queries to yzedata and provide results to business users or project teammembers.
  • Experience with building informationdesigns for datacentric projects on one or more of the following(preferably within an airline industry): Data Warehouses Big DataEnvironments for ytics Data API Business IntelligenceSolutions.
  • Airline industry experiencepreferred (or expertise in a supporting function such as HR orFinance) needs to understand the business domains well to conductdata modeling and ysisactivities

  • BigData & Distributed Processing: Querying HDFS or ADLS filestorage systems with tools such as Hive or HBase ElasticSearchExperience with AVRO / PARQUET file formatsnicetohave.
