Role Context

Electrical equipment must remain safe, serviceable and ready to support continuous plant operation. This position performs preventive and corrective field maintenance across low-voltage and high-voltage systems while maintaining accurate isolation, work-order and equipment-history records. Effective troubleshooting will reduce downtime and help prevent recurring electrical failures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Isolate and energize low-voltage and high-voltage motors under authorized procedures.
  • Perform approved switching and isolation activities for electrical circuits.
  • Work on uninterruptible power supplies, transformers and generators.
  • Diagnose faults affecting high-voltage and low-voltage equipment.
  • Accept and complete Electrical Isolation Confirmation Certificates.
  • Verify that isolation requirements are fulfilled before maintenance begins.
  • Identify spare parts, tools and consumables required for assigned work.
  • Conduct routine visual and operational inspections of electrical assets.
  • Perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Confirm that equipment remains in efficient and dependable operating condition.
  • Install new electrical equipment according to approved plans.
  • Complete modifications, testing and staged verification under supervisory direction.
  • Check equipment parameters and confirm compliance throughout installation or testing.
  • Identify practical opportunities to improve maintenance execution.
  • Assist senior personnel with electrical-system modifications and reliability improvements.
  • Inspect completed work and verify conformity with maintenance requirements.
  • Complete maintenance activity sheets and survey documentation.
  • Record work results in the approved maintenance system.
  • Maintain failure histories that support future fault analysis.
  • Contribute technical information to method statements.
  • Initiate near-miss reports when unsafe events or conditions are identified.
  • Update electrical drawings after approved plant changes.
  • Maintain technical records and related documents for ready access.
  • Follow applicable plant HSE requirements during every maintenance activity.

Ideal Profile

Candidates must hold a Diploma in an Electrical discipline or a Secondary School Certificate supported by a relevant vocational trade certificate. A minimum of four years of experience maintaining electrical equipment in a large industrial plant is required, preferably within the oil and gas sector. Applicants should have practical knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage equipment, safe electrical isolation and systematic fault diagnosis. The ability to interpret drawings, maintain accurate work records and follow authorized switching procedures is essential. Relevant professional certification should be held where applicable.
