Senior Contract Engineer

- Reporting to the CommercialManager, the Senior Contract Engineer will manage all sub-contractactivities related to all of Well Engineering operations in thesupport of all activities.
- The Senior ContractEngineer will need to work on their own initiative dealing directlywith all key business stakeholders, to execute the requiredsubcontracts in line with Petrofac's bestpractice.
- Senior Contract Engineer will berequired to develop subcontract templates based on the Petrofacsubcontract conditions of contract for use where requested specificsubcontracts.
- Develop and manage commercial andsubcontracts plan/strategy for various projects, ensuring that isit delivered, and any tendering activity is carried out inaccordance with Company policies and procedures and projectsrequirements.
- Preparation of Invitation toTender (ITT) packages, including instructions to bidders, proposalform, subcontract agreement, terms and conditions, special termsand conditions, index and commercial exhibits asappropriate
- Receive and review all other partsof the bid package to ensure continuity and completeness, includingliaison with sponsor departments
- Issuesubcontract ITT package to approved tenderers, manage theclarification process (including close out of contractual andcommercial qualifications) expedite responses, prepare a formalcommercial evaluation of bids and recommendation toaward.
- Prepare and issue to the selectedcontractor's approved contracts and contractamendments.
- Maintain and log all subcontractchange authorizations and amendments.
- Whereappropriate liaise with Group Contracts for legal, tax insuranceand compliance to obtain their input intosubcontracts.
- Work with the Business Serviceslines to negotiate subcontract terms with suppliers in line withPetrofac Best Practice and prepare justification for anysignificant exceptions for senior managementapproval.
- Ensure any agreed sub contractualposition is approved in line with the Delegation of AuthorityMatrix.
- Ensure that where appropriate thesub-contract terms drafted to ensure full back-to-backcoverage.
- Prepare subcontract approvalpaperwork (subcontract RRC, GRRC and Tender Board paperwork) insupport of ITT’s and awards.
- Gain afull understanding of company procedures and processes and followthese principles in all aspects of therole.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of allallocated subcontracts and ITTprocesses.
- Support Project Managers inpresenting the Company’s position to suppliers and advisemanagers on their contractual rights andobligations.
- Development of standard ITT andsubcontract templates for differing categories ofactivities.
- Lead in the resolution ofcontractual claims anddisputes.
