Roles and responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation ofhigh-level technical expertise in process engineering, requiringanalytical, interpretative, and constructive thinking with asignificant degree of evaluative judgement, to ensure the highestlevel of engineering integrity and reliability, and safety andenvironmental compliance.
  • Oversee processengineering during the Detailed Engineering phase, in covering allaspects of design to ensure technical and safety objectives are metwithin the approved scope, budget andschedule.
  • Will manage one processengineer.

KeyAccountabilities

  • Manage the Contractor'sProcess Engineering activities including validation of personnelnumbers, qualifications, and experience; usage of appropriatedesign tools, including computer hardware and software; adherencewith all project objectives, requirements, specifications,standards, procedures, execution plans and design verificationprocesses.
  • Provide guidance to the Contractorsto complete the design as per project specifications in a timelymanner and provide clear instructions
  • Leadprocess design and coordination amongst other disciplines. Reviewand process work activities discussing and determining prioritiesin conjunction with Engineering Manager and other disciplines toensure no delays to the project schedule. Verify that comments arereturned without delay and with the requiredquality.
  • Participate to tender assessments,clarifications with bidders and other activities as related to thediscipline.
  • Participate as required totechnical interfacing with other internal entities and externalentities (e.g. Field Operations, other Projects like GMP and AGUPphase 2, Partners, Authorities)
  • Provide overallguidance pertaining to safe work practices on process design, riskanalysis and hazard management within the projectperimeter.
  • Review and propose response toletters, technical queries, deviation requests for projectmanagement approval.
  • Expedite Contractors toissue deliverables with the right quality level and as per theapproved MDRs.
  • Assess on regular basis theprogress of Contractors deliverables and provide if requiredadequate mitigations to avoid projectdelays
  • Lead and participate in all requiredengineering and safety reviews (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL reviews, 3Dmodel, TRA etc…) and in the set-up of actions list andclose-out process.
  • Support the preparation andparticipate to Project technical reviews, provides answers, andensure timely implementation of thefindings.
  • Review vendor documents and assistthe package engineers in technical problem solving at all stage ofwork.
  • Attend to vendors meeting asrequired.
  • Provide support to challenge thecontractors and promote alternatives design to optimize the cost,work, and schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with theproject specifications, applicable laws and regulations,international codes and standards, HSEStandards
  • Contribute to the studies leading totechnical decision making and issue recommendations to the ProjectManagement.
  • Contribute to the LLI procurementCFT documents preparation ensuring coordination with the CompanyProcurement Team.
  • Contribute to theConstruction CFT documents preparation ensuring coordination withthe Project management Team.
  • Ensure properreporting, highlight critical issues, and propose remedialactions.
  • Assist the Construction supervisionteam for their activities (such as procedures review) and thepreparation of the pre-commissioningactivities.
  • Assist the Commissioning team forthe preparation of the commissioning and start-upactivities.
  • Liaise with Field operations teamto assist for the issuance of the operatingprocedures.
  • Provide assistance to Fieldoperations team for the request of modifications (RFM) whenrequire
  • The job holder is also accountable fordemonstrating an exemplary behavior with regards to HSSE rules& requirements and for ensuring that HSSE requirements areduly implemented within his area ofresponsibility.

Desired candidate profile
  • Bachelors in Engineering orequivalent
  • Minimum 10 years’experience working in process design engineering at FEED/EPC stagesin the oil and gas industry with exposure to onshore oil and gasprocessing facilities in greenfield and brownfield projects with atleast 6 years at a lead position.
  • Shall havegood understanding of process safety and processcontrol.
  • Shall have good knowledge in flowassurance.
  • Shall be able to perform processdesign calculations when required.
  • Should haveexperience with oil and water separation treatment units, rotatingequipment, production and injection wells design, flare system,utilities systems, reverse osmosis treatment units, soursystems.
  • Should have experience incommissioning.
  • Operational experience would bean advantage.
  • Good communicationskills.
  • Experienced in multiculturalenvironment, resilience, and capacity to adapt to differentenvironment.
