Feedlot supervisor

• Manage the daily operations of thefeedlot facility, including overseeing feeding, health monitoring,and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliancewith all relevant regulations and industry standards for animalwelfare, food safety, and environmentalprotection.
• Develop and implement feedingprograms to optimize livestock growth andperformance.
• Monitor the health of livestock,identify signs of illness or distress, and provide appropriateveterinary care or treatment.
• Maintain accuraterecords of feed inventories, animal health treatments, and otherrelated data.
• Coordinate with suppliers toensure a reliable supply of quality feed and other necessaryresources.
• Train and supervise feedlot staff inproper animal handling techniques, safety protocols, and standardoperating procedures.
• Collaborate withveterinarians, nutritionists, and consultants to implement bestpractices for animal nutrition and herd healthmanagement.
• Conduct regular inspections offacilities, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure they arewell-maintained and in good workingcondition.
• Stay updated on industry trends,advancements in feedlot management practices, and regulatorychanges that may impact operations.
  

Qualifications

• Diploma in Animal Science,Agriculture, or related field ispreferred.
• Proven experience in feedlotmanagement or related livestockoperations.
• Strong knowledge of animalnutrition, herd health management, and feedingprograms.
• Familiarity with industry regulationsand standards for animal welfare, food safety, and environmentalcompliance.
• Excellent organizational andproblem-solving skills.
• Effective communicationand interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to leadand motivate a team.
