Key Job Responsibilities
- Inventory Management - Lead daily monitoring of inventory health metrics and inventory accuracy.
- Develop strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce excess and aged inventory.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control processes.
- Monitor inventory shrinkage and damage rates.
- Support the development and execution of buying and sourcing strategy for the new category.
- Data Analysis and Forecasting - Analyze historical data to predict future inventory requirements.
- Create demand forecasts and recommend appropriate order quantities.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators.
- Identify inventory trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Use data and business metrics to continuously improve inventory performance.
- Cross-functional Leadership - Partner with operations, transportation, procurement, and other relevant teams.
- Build alignment between planning and execution teams.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders and leadership to support strategic direction.
- Escalate and resolve inventory-related issues across networks.
- Lead projects designed to improve in-stock performance.
- Build effective working relationships across complex business, technology, and operations processes involving Amazon and its partners.
- Process Improvement - Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
- Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train and coach team members on inventory management best practices.
- Support scalable processes suitable for a fast-moving and developing business.
Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, or project management.
- 5 years of experience using Excel.
- Bachelor 's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science.
- Experience working with complex data sets.
- Strong analytical capability and sound judgment.
- Good document writing skills and concise communication.
- Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial environment with ambiguity and competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of statistical inventory control principles.
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
- Experience with SQL.
