The Storekeeper plays a crucialrole in maintaining efficient operations within the warehouse orstore of a FastMoving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company. They areresponsible for managing inventory ensuring proper storage andhandling of goods and facilitating smooth inward and outwardmovement of products. The role requires attention to detailorganizational skills and a commitment to maintaining awellorganized and tidyworkspace.

KeyResponsibilities:

  1. InventoryManagement:

    • Maintainaccurate records of inventory levels including quantitiesdescriptions and locations.
    • Conductregular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physicalcounts and system records.
    • Monitorstock levels to anticipate future demand and avoid stockouts oroverstocksituations.
  2. Receivingand Dispatching:

    • Receiveincoming shipments verify contents against delivery notes orpurchase orders and inspect for damage ordiscrepancies.
    • Ensure proper storageand handling of goods to prevent damage ordeterioration.
    • Prepare outgoingshipments verify orders against delivery notes and ensure accuratedocumentation fordispatch.
  3. Storageand Organization:

    • Arrangegoods in the warehouse or store in a systematic and orderly mannerutilizing appropriate storage methods andequipment.
    • Implement FIFO (First InFirst Out) and FEFO (First Expired First Out) principles to ensureproduct quality and minimizewaste.
    • Maintain cleanliness andtidiness in the warehouse or store adhering to safety and hygienestandards.
  4. Documentationand Reporting:

    • Maintaindetailed records of all incoming and outgoing goods includinginvoices packing slips and deliverynotes.
    • Generate reports on inventorylevels stock movements and other relevant metrics as required bymanagement.
    • Communicate anyinventoryrelated issues or concerns to the appropriatestakeholders.
  5. CollaborationandCommunication:

    • Coordinatewith other departments such as procurement sales and logistics tofulfill orders and resolve any discrepancies orissues.
    • Communicate effectively withsuppliers carriers and internal teams to ensure timely and accuratereceipt and delivery ofgoods.
    • Participate in regularmeetings and provide input on process improvements and efficiencyenhancements.

Qualificationsand Skills:

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent; additional education or certificationin logistics or supply chain management is aplus.
  • Proven experience working in awarehouse or store environment preferably in the FMCGindustry.
  • Proficiency in inventorymanagement software or ERP systems with the ability to quicklylearn new software tools.
  • Strongorganizational skills and attention to detail with the ability tomultitask and prioritize taskseffectively.
  • Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaborativelyin a teamenvironment.
