This roledemands a professional who is committed to delivering a rigorousand comprehensive physics curriculum fostering critical thinkingproblemsolving skills and a deep understanding of scientificprinciples among students from Grades 9 to 12 (or the equivalent inyour system). The ideal candidate will be adept at making complexconcepts accessible and engaging preparing students not only forexaminations but also for realworld applications ofphysics.

KeyResponsibilities:

    • Developand implement a comprehensive physics curriculum that aligns withinternational standards and the school s academicgoals.
    • Designlesson plans that are engaging studentcentered and differentiatedto accommodate a wide range of learning styles andabilities.
    • Utilizea variety of teaching methods including lectures demonstrationsexperiments and technologybased resources to deliver contenteffectively.
    • Createand administer formative and summative assessments includingquizzes tests lab reports and projects to evaluate studentunderstanding and mastery of physicsconcepts.
    • Providetimely constructive feedback to students identifying areas ofstrength and opportunities forimprovement.
    • Preparestudents for internal and external examinations includingstandardized tests by developing effective review strategies andpracticesessions.
    • Establishand maintain a positive safe and inclusive classroom environmentthat fosters respect collaboration and academicexcellence.
    • Implementclassroom management strategies that support student engagement andminimize disruptions ensuring a productive learningatmosphere.
    • Offeradditional academic support to students who require extra helpincluding afterschool tutoring sessions oneonone consultations andguidance on scienceprojects.
    • Monitorstudent progress closely identifying those who may be at risk ofunderachievement and developing intervention strategies to supporttheirsuccess.
    • Serveas a mentor to students providing academic and career adviceparticularly for those interested in pursuing further studies inphysics or relatedfields.
    • Engagein ongoing professional development to stay current with advancesin physics education instructional technologies and bestpractices.
    • Collaboratewith colleagues within the science department and across otherdepartments to develop interdisciplinary lessons and projects thatenhance the overall educationalexperience.
    • Participatein departmental meetings schoolwide initiatives and professionallearning communities to contribute to the continuous improvement ofthe school s academicprograms.
    • Maintainregular communication with parents and guardians regarding studentprogress upcoming assessments and any concerns that mayarise.
    • Participatein parentteacher conferences open houses and other school events tobuild strong relationships with families and the broadercommunity.
    • Promotethe school s science program by organizing and participating inextracurricular activities such as science fairs competitions andSTEMclubs.
    • Activelycontribute to the school s extracurricular programs by leading orsupporting sciencerelated clubs activities and events thatencourage students to explore physics beyond theclassroom.
    • Encouragestudents to participate in local regional and international sciencecompetitions providing guidance and support throughout thepreparationprocess.
    • Maintainaccurate and uptodate records of student attendance grades andother essential data using the school s information managementsystem.
    • Prepareand submit reports including student progress reports andcurriculum updates as required by the schooladministration.
Ensurethat all laboratory equipment and resources are used safely andmaintained in good working order adhering to the school s healthandsafety

Requirements
  • EducationalBackground:
    • Bachelors degree in Physics Physics Education or a closely related field. AMaster s degree in Physics or Education is highlydesirable.
  • Certification:
    • Validteaching certification or license with a specialization in physicsor secondary scienceeducation.
    • Additionalqualifications in educational technology or special education wouldbe anasset.
  • Experience:
    • Minimumof 3 years of teaching experience at the secondary or high schoollevel preferably in an international or multiculturalsetting.
    • Proventrack record of success in preparing students for standardizedexams and achieving high passrates.
