Maintain quality of safety in the crane group and participate in the site safety reviews (i.e., Near Miss Reporting/STOP cards).Responsible for giving a detailed report of any crane incidents to the Crane Supervisor.RequirementsMust read and write English fluently.Be experienced, fully trained, and competent in the operation and maintenance of offshore pedestal cranes.Must have adequate understanding of the capabilities and limitations of each crane regarding offshore operation, and of the various installed mechanisms, control, and safety systems.Educated to a minimum qualification of higher secondary school certificate or HNC or equivalent qualification.At least a minimum of 5 years' offshore/onshore experience and a minimum of 3 years in a similar position.Have an Offshore Stage 3 Crane Operator certificate.Must have sufficient general engineering knowledge of the lifting equipment to carry out routine maintenance and inspection routines up to 3 monthly PM.Should assist mechanics and ad-hoc crew in completing routine maintenance, major maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown maintenance.Should also be multi-skilled in other platform duties including operating firefighting equipment and undertaking fire standby duties, acting as slinger, Banksman/Signalman, Rigger, and deck duties when required.Should complete reports, logs, and other documentation as required and shall maintain the cranes in a clean condition, internally and externally.Desired Candidate Profile

Personnel Involved in Lifting Operations :Lifting Operations Coordinator : Oversees and plans all lifting operations, ensuring they are executed safely and efficiently.Riggers : Responsible for securing loads, preparing rigging systems, and ensuring safety during lifts.Crane Operators : Operate cranes and hoisting equipment during lifting operations.Signalmen/Deck Crew : Provide hand signals or radio communication to guide crane operators during lifting operations.Safety Officers : Monitor operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.Maintenance Personnel : Ensure that all lifting equipment is in good working order by performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance.3.

Planning and Coordination of Lifting Operations :Lift Plan : A detailed plan is developed for each lifting operation, identifying the weight and type of load, the equipment to be used, and the personnel involved. The plan includes a safety assessment, such as risk evaluations for potential hazards (e.g., weather conditions, load stability).Load Calculations : Before any lifting operation, calculations are made to ensure the equipment being used (such as cranes or hoists) can safely handle the weight of the load.Weather Considerations : Offshore lifting operations are highly influenced by weather conditions such as wind, waves, and visibility. Lifting may be delayed or suspended if the weather poses a safety risk.Equipment Inspections : Before starting any lift, equipment is thoroughly checked to ensure it is in proper working condition. This includes the crane, rigging, and all associated gear.
