Requirements

Fast-paced,multi-tasking job requiring versatility, attention to detail,impeccable time management, and outstanding communication skills.The technician is primarily responsible for maintaining excellencein patient care and assisting the veterinarian. Technicians alsoplay a vital role in client communication. Technicians work in allareas of the hospital to provide the best possible care forpatients. This position holds an essential role in communicationand organization between all team members.

  • VeterinaryTechnician Specialist (VTS -Ophthalmology)
  • Knowledgeof and ability to obtain vitals for Small Animals, Avian, andExotics
  • PatientRecord Keeping (Treatment Sheet and ComputerRecord)
  • Restraintof patients Using Low-StressTechniques

  • Knowledge of Commonly UsedMedications (Routes of Administration, +/- Filter,Dilution)
  • Proficientin Basic Medical Math (lbs to kgs, dose to ml administered,etc)

  • Abilityto read doctors orders and perform treatmentsaccordingly
  • Ableto Perform Phlebotomy (Peripheral andJugular)

JobEnvironment
Fastpaced, multi-task, must be able to lift up to 45 lbs solo and 150lbs with some assistance, standing for prolonged periods of time,tolerate sickness/death, exposure to potentially zoonotic diseasesand occupationalradiation.
