The College of Dentistry, AjmanUniversity, has an opening for the position of Associate/ Assistantand Professor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, startingFall semester2024-25

QUALIFICATIONS &EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate with a Ph.D. from areputable university
  • 3 years’experience with master degree in thefield.
  • Outstanding teachingrecord
  • Outstanding research and publicationsrecord in top journals
  • Adequate experience insupervising student projects and thesisdissertation.
  • Record of collaborative andinterdisciplinary research would be anadvantage
  • Excellent record in community serviceand scholarly activities
  • Eligible forpracticing as specialist or consultant as per Ministry of Health& Prevention- UAE regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver courses to students inspecified discipline areas of study
  • Evaluateand monitor individual student progress and provide feedback tosustain student success
  • Organize and manageinstructional resources, courses outlines, and communitynetworks
  • Conduct high-quality research inhis/her own field and publish research outcomes in reputablejournals and conferences.
  • Ensure a respectfuland culturally sensitive learning environment in allcollege-focused activities
  • Establish andmaintain effective work relationships across the organization andcommunity
  • Motivate and inspire confidence inothers (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations topersonal growth and success
  • Actively seek outmethods, procedures, and resources to best achieve course andlesson objectives
  • Maintain relationships withstudents that are conducive to learning
  • Performmiscellaneous job-related duties asassigned
  • Supervising dental students in theclinical training on evidence-baseddentistry.
  • DDS or DMDdegree from an accredited dentalschool.
  • Completed a residency in Oral &Maxillofacial Surgery, with board certification oreligibility.

Experience:

  • Priorteaching experience at the dental school or university level ispreferred.
  • Clinical experience in Oral& Maxillofacial Surgery, including a range of surgicalprocedures.

KeySkills:

  • Strong clinicalskills in diagnosis, surgical procedures, and post-operativecare.
  • Ability to teach and mentor dentalstudents and residents effectively.
  • Knowledgeof current trends and advancements in Oral & MaxillofacialSurgery.

InterpersonalSkills:

  • Excellentcommunication skills for interacting with students, faculty, andpatients.
  • Strong teamwork and collaborationskills within a multidisciplinaryenvironment.
  • Ability to provide constructivefeedback and support to students andresidents.
