What's onyour plate?

  • Collaborate with other departmentslocally and centrally in order to achieve businessobjectives.
  • Ensure that all employees receivethe designated food safety & quality training. Deliver andshare the training materials, templates,procedures
  • Conduct Food and health and safetyinspections and investigations by compiling and analyzing data ofpotential hazards, unsafe conditions or environmental concerns andshare findings,
  • Support in resolving seriouscustomer complaint escalation processeslocally
  • Liaise between operations and legalteam as and when required, is the the first POC for support on foodsafety and quality management.
  • Support incoordination for withdrawals and recalls of products and seriousincidents
  • Ensure the execution of all localfood safety authority enforcement action is compliedwith.
  • Monitor regulatory developments with apotential impact on local business entities and initiate internalmeasures accordingly.
  • Highlight procedureswhich need to be reviewed with respect to food safety due tooperational or regulatory changeslocally
  • Supports in food safety and quality ofproduct assortment (own branded and private label), coordinatesexternal laboratory testing, maintanance and prepares documentationfor food product (product specification and product approvals,labelling, nutritional information, supplier information requestsand audits), executes the mystery shopper and product sampling atstore level.
  • Provides regular reports to therelevant business stakeholders to support management review andensure food safety objectives are met. Health &Safety
  • Executes the H&S inspectionprogramme and be involved in audits and the close-out of correctiveactions.
  • Communicates regularly with staff tokeep the team informed of H&Spriorities.
  • Supports investigations intoaccidents and other reports (e.g. nearmisses).
  • Coordinates with local operations andcentral team to ensure that there is a suitable maintenance plan tosafeguard H&S
  • Deliver H&Straining, make persuasive presentations by communicating technicalinformation in a non-technical manner appropriate to the audiencewhile maintain competency records for staff

What you need to besuccessful

  • Degree in food science or relatedfield
  • 3+ years of experience managing FoodSafety and Quality/ Health and Safety in a large scale retailgrocery, foodservice or manufacturingenvironment
  • Fluent proficiency in the Arabicand English
  • Demonstrated ability to conductrisk assessments/evaluations and provide recommendations for riskmitigation or hazard identification.
  • Ability tomaintain appropriate current knowledge of the HACCP knowledge andH&S Standards
  • Experience leveragingtechnology to manage process
  • Program managementand experience of managing program change across multiple storelocations
  • Knowledge of food safety oflocal/regional laws and regulations and food tradingstandards
  • Experience interacting and engagingwith Authorities
  • Demonstrated organizationalskills and detail orientation and ability to manage competingpriorities.
  • Maintain effective workingrelationships and foster teamwork in a diverse workgroup
