Wood is currentlyrecruiting for a Pipeline Field Services SeniorEnvironmental Permitting Specialist for our officein Houston, TX.

Required

Underthe general supervision of the Manager of Environmental Permitting,this position is responsible for assisting with permitting andplanning development in the client area, including all aspects offederal, state, and local construction, and operating environmentalpermits and project authorizations. The Senior EnvironmentalPermitting Specialist serves as the Environmental Lead on theproject. Travel required on occasion if project warrants. Dutiesinclude:

  • Conduct fieldinspections of client facilities, properties, and project sites asnecessary for ensuring compliance with permit conditions andreviews.
  • Prepare Phase I ESA-1527 ASTM studies,field, and report preparation.
  • Manage theenvironmental permitting process, from early siting to completion,duties include engaging third-party sub-contractors where required.Issuing Work Release(s), Safety compliance for contractors,oversight
  • Conduct appropriate researchregarding federal, state, and local environmental agencies todetermine applicable permittingrequirements.
  • Ability to perform requisiteenvironmental studies including Wetland Delineations, Threatenedand Endangered Species Surveys and Environmental SiteAssessments.
  • Prepare and submit appropriateenvironmental documents, plans, and permit applications, asrequired for various regulatory/resourceagencies.
  • Coordinate agency approval of permitapplications and assists with public notice requirements whenapplicable.
  • Ability to assess technicalrequirements and develop scope of work for projectexecution.
  • Prepare, implement, and manageprofessional service agreements and task orders withconsultants.

Qualifications

Education& Credentials:

  • Good client-internal communicationskills
  • Ability to effectively manage ateam.
  • Bachelor’s Degree inenvironmental, environmental management, petroleum engineering,physical or biological science, or relatedfield
  • 5+ years of current experience inpositions requiring proficiency with the analysis and applicationof environmental regulations includingpermitting.
  • The position is in Houston, Texas.Travel is occasional as work may be conducted around and throughoutthe United States as well as foreign countries. Passport preferredbut not required as a condition ofemployment.
  • The successful candidate will befamiliar with the various methods of determining compensatorymitigation requirements such as the HGM, MCM, LRAM and TXRAMmodels.
  • Experience with FERC and PresidentialPermit desired but not required.
  • The successfulcandidate will also be experienced and proficient in theutilization of ArcGIS.
  • Ability to manageprojects with minimal oversight.
  • Establishedtrack record of obtaining environmental permits at the state andfederal level.
