Responsibilities

  • Acts in Lead technical andsupervisory roles in project definition, development, andexecution
  • Leads project sub-teams during systemdesign and implementation
  • Day-to-day managementof technical safety engineering and arranging support fromsubcontractors and specialist consultants; liaising with the Woodproject commercial section, asnecessary.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines inthe preparation and development of the deliverables and ensure thatother disciplines’ input isincorporated
  • Conduct design reviews,HAZID's, HAZCON’s, HAZOP's andENVID's
  • Assisting the production ofsafety cases and providing regulatory support services toclients
  • Administer and implement Company, andwhere applicable, Client/Project policies andprocedures
  • Supervision of disciplinepersonnel
  • Remain abreast of legislativerequirements
  • Approval, checking and preparationof design/engineering documentation
  • Support anddevelop accredited graduate trainingschemes
  • Review design documentation as requiredto ensure designs and operations are consistent withALARP
  • Develop and enhance processes and systemsfor wider use in the discipline
  • Ensure work iscarried out in accordance with relevant Codes, Standards andProcedures
  • Provide input to cost estimates andexecution plans
  • Ensure delivery of all aspectsof discipline design, specification and procurement of the projectto cost, schedule and qualitycriteria
  • Delivering quality, cost effective andtimely engineering services in a demanding environment of change,short interval planning and conflictingpriorities
  • Attend project Kick-off,Engineering, and project progress meetings as the Technical Safetyfunction representative
  • The provision oftechnical advice to management as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree orequivalent in appropriate engineeringsubject
  • Highly experienced engineer with soundtechnical background and expertise
  • Experiencedin the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevantsections of statutory documentation
  • Highlyexperienced in use of design and assessment methods used withindiscipline
  • Experienced in use of analyticalmethods used within discipline including theoretical background foranalysis programs
  • Experienced in estimatingman-hours and materials for most aspects ofwork
  • Experienced in working with otherdisciplines and sections to meet deliverydates
  • Highly experienced in quality controlrequirements and quality assurance for engineeringwork
  • Experienced in design safety /environmental requirements, procedures and responsibilities forothers
  • Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills
  • Proactiveapproach
  • Strong interpersonal and communicationskills
