We are currently looking for lawyers with 57 yearstoptier postqualification experience in noncontentious constructionand infrastructure. Ideally candidates will have experience in
  • Drafting and negotiating numerous constructionrelated contracts (both in FIDIC and bespoke forms) for a widerange of projects (including power infrastructure buildings andleisure facilities);
  • Drafting and negotiatingseveral O&M and FM contracts;and
  • Providing legal services and advising onall areas of construction law including associated areas andmatters related to contractors subcontractors and designprofessionals.
Examples of opportunitiesinclude:
  • A 6 month contract for anoncontentious construction lawyer to join a wellestablished energycompany supporting their legal team with drafting suites ofconstruction related templates for governments developers andcontractors across the GCC.
  • A 12 month contractfor a construction lawyer to join a local government entity toassist with drafting and negotiating construction contracts(including FIDIC contracts and other nonFIDC construction legaldocumentation).
  • A 3 month contract for aprojects and infrastructure lawyer to work within A&OShearman providing senior frontend construction legal support tothe UAEs Energy Natural resources and Infrastructurepractice.

OurCriteria

Successful candidates will:
  • have a minimum of four years postqualificationexperience at a law firm ranked as top tier for constructionprojects and infrastructure work;
  • ideally haverecent inhouse legal experience within an energy transport orinfrastructure company;
  • preferably haveexperience in the Middle East and fluency inArabic
  • have a desire to take ownership of theircareer and be responsible for their own professional developmentand network proactively making use of any support and resourcesavailable;
  • have researched the personal andfinancial factors that you need to consider when commencing acareer as a legal consultant and be comfortable with the ways inwhich it differs from permanentemployment;
  • have a consultant mindset includinga highly professional flexible and adaptable outlook andapproach;
  • have a practising certificate (orequivalent) which entitles them to practise as a lawyer in theregion.
