RAK Academy Khuzam 

RAK Academy Khuzam is situated in Khuzam which is centrally located in the beautiful, peaceful and inexpensive emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. We are uniquely placed, being the only secondary school out of the five RAK Academy schools. The British curriculum is offered from Grade 6 (Year 7) to Grade 12 (Year 13). All students study IGCSE courses in Grades 9 and 10 and then can opt to follow an A-level pathway or the International Baccalaureate Pathway in Grades 11 and 12. Students also study additional subjects as stipulated by the Ministry of Education (MoE). RAK Academy Khuzam is accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) and is benchmarked against leading international British schools. 

The Role 

RAK Academy, Khuzam secondary is looking for a positive, driven and inspirational Inclusion/ SEN Teacher role to join the team. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge and understanding of teaching children with Additional Support Needs including students who have English as an Additional Language.

The ideal candidate will be able to complete the core roles of an Inclusion Teacher:

Consultation with staff Planning learning and teaching; including co-operative teaching with class teachers.Identification and Assessment of barriers to learning; including second language needs. Collegiate working with specialist services.Contribute to whole staff professional development.Managing the Inclusion Register, IEPs and provision for students who demonstrate gifts or talents.


Essential :

Hold a Bachelor s degree plus a post-graduate qualification in education. Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Hold a formal post-graduate qualification in Inclusion   Have a proven track record of meeting students needs in a mainstream school environmentHave a proven track record of excellent classroom and pedagogical practice.It is essential to be trained in the British Curriculum


Desirable:

Experience within a similar role or positionAbility to oversee and implement the analysis of student outcome dataUnderstand curriculum design and the concept of a developing an aspirational, cumulative curriculum. Working towards a formally recognized qualification such as a NASENCO qualification
