The Bulletin Producer is a senior member of an output team responsible for a segment of Sky News Arabia's programming. During your timeslot, you will work under the direction of an Executive Producer to create and shape our news coverage. While your Executive Producer is on air, you will be the output team's leader in the newsroom, directing producers and liaising with the news desk over the development of stories. You will also deputies for your Executive Producer when appropriate. Your key role will be to write scripts and edit the scripts of others, ensuring an accurate and distinctive voice for Sky News Arabia. You may also be required to cut pictures, direct the effort to find guests, develop graphics and other work as required. Your mission will be to produce original and market-leading news output while ensuring Sky News Arabia's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to. Though you’re main role will be to produce news for Sky News Arabia's television news channel, you will embrace the full range of content delivery platforms including online and aim to develop cross-platform working practices and ideas wherever possible. Key Responsibilities:
  • Working under the direction of an Executive Producer to produce distinctive and stylish news coverage for a segment of Sky News Arabia's programming.
  • Leading the newsroom output team while your segment is on air, and deputizing for the EP when required
  • Writing scripts for on-air talent and editing the scripts of others
  • Cutting pictures using a newsroom production system, commissioning and writing graphics and other task as required.
  • Ensuring Sky News Arabia's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to.
  • Working with your team's EP and producers, as well as with the news desk and online, to cultivate a collaborative approach to news gathering and delivery across Sky News Arabia.
  • Required to work within a shift pattern across the whole week and including nights to service the needs of a 24 hour news channel. Key Skills, Experience and Education:
    • Experience in television news, including television news production.
    • An excellent journalist with strong editorial judgment.
    • Previous experience in a national or international broadcast news channel.
    • Experience of newsroom production systems and desktop editing.
    • Experience of or appreciation of the benefits and difficulties of cross-platform working.
    • Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests including social affairs, international politics, public policy, world business and economic affairs, Sciences and the Arts.
    • Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience required.
    • BA in journalism or other related social science major. Note: you will be required to attach the following: 1. Resume / CV
