RAK Academy Khuzam 

RAK Academy Khuzam is situated in Khuzam which is centrally located in the beautiful, peaceful and inexpensive emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. We are uniquely placed, being the only secondary school out of the five RAK Academy schools. The British curriculum is offered from Grade 6 (Year 7) to Grade 12 (Year 13). All students study IGCSE courses in Grades 9 and 10 and then can opt to follow an A-level pathway or the International Baccalaureate Pathway in Grades 11 and 12. Students also study additional subjects as stipulated by the Ministry of Education (MoE). RAK Academy Khuzam is accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO) and is benchmarked against leading international British schools.  

The Role 

The secondary school is looking for a positive, driven and inspirational Examination and Careers Guidance Officer. This is a crucial role in the RAK Academy. Students are our first priority, and this role is pivotal to the success of our young people and the RAK Academy. The Examination and Careers Guidance Officer will ensure our students are guided seamlessly through all the examination processes, both internal and external. The role requires managing effective and efficient administration of external examinations in accordance with the awarding body rules for examination administration. High levels of integrity are required to ensure that the examinations are conducted in accordance with the awarding bodies regulations. In addition to examination responsibilities, this role oversees the school's careers and universities provision and ensures that all students are effectively guided through career choice processes as well as university applications.

Essential

Undertake training, update or review sessions as required.    Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the role as may be required by the Head of School.   Develop and embed the Gatsby Benchmarks of Good Career Guidance into RAK Academy.     Be a reflective practitioner with the ability to think creatively and innovate.    Be a positive and enthusiastic member of staff and have a growth mindset.    Be willing to be fully involved in extra-curricular activities.   Have excellent communications skills.    Ensure candidates and relevant internal stakeholders are aware of processes, key dates and deadlines in relation to the issue of results and the arrangements for post-results services.

Desirable

Bachelor's degreeMinimum two years of experience working as an Examination Office/Assistant in a school or college. Experience of using Google suite, e.g. Google classroom.    Ability to provide a negative Criminal Background Check.
