Finance Assistant - Fixed Term - Middle East
This role supports the growth of our business and provides an excellent opportunity for an early careers candidate to join our growing practice in the Dubai office.   The role supports on various accounting duties while activity is increasing, with a main focus on payables in line with BH internal rules, applicable accounting rules and local regulations.   This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start a career with one of the leading engineering firms.

  An efficient accounting function for our Dubai office to allow our managers and leaders to support our growth strategy, knowing administration is functioning seamlessly under this remit.

 


A detailed overview of your responsibilities is as follows…

Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities will be to support on various accounting duties, accounting transactions, maintain the general ledgers, financial records, and operations in compliance with internal and local rules including: 


  • Support on posting of vendor invoices
  •  Contact with our service providers for account clarification and coordination of open issues
  •  Invoice approval and coordination with internal specialist departments
  • Checking and posting of travel expense reports
  • Participation in ensuring digital accounting Ad-hoc evaluations
  • Project related housekeeping tasks data cleanse in preparation of changing ERP.
  • Support the payable accounting cycle from Purchase order to payment in respect of internal workflow, authority matrix and legal requirements
  • Support on timesheets corrections where applicable, perform month end amendments where required
  • Collaborate efficiently with Finance team and ensure back-up where required
  • Ensure adherence and full compliance to local and business finance policies and procedures

  • Good computer and IT skills including Word and Excel using spreadsheets and databases
  • Experience of supporting a team of people as well as working on a one-to-one basis. 
  • Ability to understand the nature of the work the team carries out and interact with other team members in the delivery of their work. 
  • High level of accuracy and ethics
  • Ability to work within financial deadlines 
  • Good communication skills  
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage deadlines.  

Qualifications


  • Accounting or Finance degree
  • Prior experience of the Agresso finance software would be an advantage, but not essential 
  • Prior experience of a project focussed organisation would be an advantage, but not essential 
  • Prior experience of project management ERPs would be an advantage, but not essential
