Job Purpose Provide operational and engineering support to enhance drilling performance by monitoring, analyzing and optimizing various activities during well construction in order to achieve Operational Excellence.Engage with Sr. Drilling Engineers in well planning and drilling performance discussions to highlight opportunities and identify risks.Regular rig visits and interaction with field personnel to understand challenges and optimisation opportunities.Develop and monitor key drilling performance indicators.
Job Responsibilities Operational: Provide in-depth drilling performance analysis.
1.Provide operational and engineering support to enhance drilling performance by monitoring, analyzing and optimizing all activities during well construction.
2.Conduct meetings to review well progress relative to benchmark targets and to convey the lessons learned.
3.Conduct NPT analyses and identify areas for improvement and remediation.
4.Where problems have occurred, identify root causes and arrive at technically sound solutions.
5.Ensure application of engineering best practices during well construction.
6.Review and critique drilling and workover programs to ensure plans are clear, realistic, robust and are optimised from a time, cost and quality perspective.
7.Review detailed drilling and operating procedures for each succeeding hole interval, taking into account local geology, potential hole problems and drilling hazards.
8.Review drilling rig and other equipment specifications to ensure adequacy for the proposed well design. Review that equipment specified in the drilling program is suitable for the application.
9.Review existing and new technologies for incorporation into the well design.
10.Lead and contribute to the development of the Performance Drilling and Knowledge data base. Benchmark performance.
11.Ensure that operations and drilling engineering work is performed in line with company standards.
12.Visit rigs in Turkmenistan to provide support and guidance to help optimise performance. Regular site visits will be essential.
13.Analyse and champion the LessonFlow database, encourage participation.
14.Provide operational and engineering support as required due to operational requirements, annual leave of team members.
15.Stand in for Head of Engineering or Head of Drilling Operations, as required.
Engineering: Provide engineering support to meet the goals of safety and cost efficiency while meeting well objectives.
1.Provide technical guidance and support in developing a well plan and generating of well design options.
2.Assist in offset wells analysis and consider well design based on a review of drilling objectives.
3.Evaluate the risks involved in achieving well objectives.
4.Ensure that all well planning and design activities are conducted using workflows that comply with company well engineering and HSE standards, industry best practices and statutory requirements.
5.Study bit, bottom hole assembly and mud system performance and recommend ways to optimize the drilling process.
6.Coordinate the use of existing and new technologies to improve drilling performance and well bore quality.
7.Provide technical support including preparation and evaluation of contract tender documents.
Reporting: Prepare reports in support of department activities.
1.Contribute to monthly performance presentations, covering all rigs drilling activities.
2.Audit operations, functions or vendors required including participating in operational reviews and operational readiness reviews.
3.Provide detailed daily reports of depth and time and costs versus time.
4.Prepare analyses of incident and/or equipment failure reports, including recommendations for corrective action.
5.Provide reports and presentations to department and company management as required.
6.Provide information to Turkmenistan authorities in an accurate and timely manner as required.
