As a Radiation Oncologist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive radiation therapy to patients with cancer and other diseases. This role requires a strong background in using radiation technology as well as excellent communication and patient care skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients according to prescribed dosage and treatment plan
  • Accurately document patient and treatment information in electronic medical records
  • Monitor and assess patient reactions to radiation treatments and consult with other medical professionals for any necessary adjustments to treatment plans
  • Collaborate with other physicians and medical staff to provide a multidisciplinary approach to patient care
  • Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and any necessary lifestyle adjustments
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, new technologies, and treatment techniques through continuing education and professional development opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and radiation protection standards for patients, staff, and yourself
  • Maintain accurate and timely records and reports for patient treatment and progress
  • Participate in departmental and hospital committees and meetings as needed

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited radiation oncology residency program
  • Board certification in radiation oncology
  • State medical license and/or ability to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in use of electronic medical records
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions
  • Commitment to continued education and professional development
