Job Description As the Head of Technical for this growing ship management company, you will be at the helm of technical operations, overseeing a fleet of 20-30 vessels, all over 10 years old. You will be responsible for leading the technical department, ensuring that all vessels under management are maintained and operated to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  
Your key responsibilities will include:
  
  
Overseeing the technical management of a mixed fleet of deep-sea vessels, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards

Leading a growing team of 5 Technical superintendents and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

Developing and implementing maintenance and repair strategies for older vessels to optimize their performance and extend their service life

Managing budgets and controlling costs while ensuring the highest standards of technical operations Conducting regular inspections and audits of vessels to ensure compliance with international maritime regulations

Liaising closely with clients and other stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and address any technical issues promptly

Responding to emergency inspections and hands-on technical issues as needed

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, providing updates on technical operations and performance

Traveling as needed to resolve business-critical issues and ensure smooth operations

Ensuring extreme care and attention to the needs of ship owners, aligning with our business model focused on quality service

The position also covers Procurement and It-Vessels Communications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  
  
Extensive experience in technical management within the maritime industry, preferably with third-party management and client relationship experience

Proven experience as the technical authority within a shipping company, with hands-on capabilities to respond to emergency inspections and technical issues

Prior experience sailing as a Chief Engineer

Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing and developing technical teams

Experience working within a multicultural team, appreciating the value of a diverse employee base In-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations and standards

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders

A degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field is preferred Willingness to travel frequently and spend periods at sea or in shipyards
