Regional Geologist

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Duration: 12 month renewable contract

We are seeking a highly experienced Regional Geologist to join our client Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the UAE's stratigraphy and depositional settings, with a specific focus on Middle Eastern carbonate geology. The role involves assisting with ongoing regional/play studies, requiring proficiency in regional interpretation and a deep understanding of carbonate reservoirs.

Responsibilities:

Conduct regional/play studies focusing on Middle Eastern carbonate geology. Provide expert interpretation of stratigraphy and depositional settings. Utilize basin modeling techniques to enhance understanding of petroleum systems. Rank prospects and evaluate their potential using industry-standard methodologies. Apply MEGACELL concept expertise to optimize exploration strategies.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Geology or related field is preferred, Bachelor's/master's degree is essential. Extensive experience in regional interpretation, preferably in the Middle East. Proficiency in basin modeling techniques. Strong understanding of prospect ranking methodologies. Familiarity with the MEGACELL concept is highly desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
